Minnesota Roller Derby
Minnesota Roller Derby
Event Info
Level up your weekend and join Minnesota Roller Derby for a pixel-perfect night of exciting action on Saturday, December 14, at The Legendary Roy Wilkins Auditorium. Prepare for some seriously high scores as the Maul Rats scrap with the Roller Vortex in the first game, followed by a battle between the Bodies of Water and the Wednesday Warnings.
Earlier that day, MNRD will host its annual Girl Scout Badge Day event—a unique opportunity for Girl Scouts to get a behind-the-scenes look at roller derby, learn from skaters what it means to be an athlete, and earn a badge. The Girl Scout Badge Day event sold out so quickly this year that MNRD added a second date on January 11, 2025, ahead of the league’s third bout of the season.
After the Girl Scout Badge Day event, troops are invited to attend the bout and enjoy the games from a seating section reserved just for Girl Scouts and their friends and families. Kicking off the bout is a scrimmage with the Minnesota Frostbite, MNRD’s junior program for athletes ages 7–17, so troops will have a chance to see kids their own ages play derby!
For the first time in Season 21, Minnesota Roller Derby is featuring one of its community partners, The Aliveness Project, a nonprofit organization supporting people living with and at greatest risk of HIV through transformative resources and direct services.
Doors open at 5 p.m., and the first whistle blows at 6 p.m. Come early to watch a brief demonstration of roller derby rules, drop by concessions, and meet skaters before the first whistle blows. At halftime, make your way to the track for a dance party and shop the merchandise table for clothes and accessories representing your favorite team. After the bout, hang out with the skaters at Camp Bar and Cabaret in Saint Paul at the official MNRD after-party.
Metro Transit is providing free rides to our bouts. Fill out this form to get a transit pass to this bout.
